Returnal is a roguelike game where you die a lot, re-running biomes that are changing, over and over again. You are trapped in a world that constantly changes.
Dying is part of the gameplay loop so don’t be discouraged because of it.
Returnal has an incredible story that goes with it. The baseline of the story is that Selene lost her son in a vehicle accident caused by her own distractions (always thinking about work). The ever changing world of Returnal and challenging enemies depicts Selene’s struggle to cope with the loss of her son and continually blaming herself.
